This opportunity offers the successful candidate the opportunity to be a leader and influencer in the architectural design decisions to protect our Nuclear Command Control and Communications (NC3) products in an ever-growing threat environment. Projects span the entire development lifecycle including pursuit and order capture system design requirements definition requirement allocation requirement traceability use case development for software/hardware systems integration verification testing and qualification.

In this role you will work closely with fellow systems engineers Technical Project Engineers (PEs) Product Line / Program Management software hardware electrical and support staff to assure defined requirements are consistently met in all phases of the product lifecycle.

This position will sit at our Aguadilla PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

This role is categorized as hybrid with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.

What YOU will do:

  • Support the engineering team members in embedded software application development through guidance and direction to one or more software engineers
  • Investigate root cause of complex issues and implement solutions working independently or with a multi-discipline team
  • Apply computer science engineering and mathematical analysis concepts and principles in the development of software for the target hardware
  • Work closely with cross functional members of the engineering organization to develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software and operational performance requirements and design of the overall system
  • Support and participate in all phases of the software development life cycle including requirements analysis design implementation hardware-software integration and formal test
  • Develop software test plans and procedures and other relevant technical documentation
  • Utilize modeling tools and equipment to establish operating data conduct experimental tests prototype and evaluate results
  • Participate in peer reviews identify track and repair defects
  • Utilize a variety of software languages (primarily C/C and Python) ti implement software for embedded real time operating systems

Qualifications you must have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science Technology Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
  • Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Software and system-level debugging experience including the ability to identify problems in established code and make modifications as necessary
  • Experience using Agile methodologies Atlassian/Jira toolset for task management automation tool solution Junit Linux command line shell or python scripting.
  • Design and implementation experience with embedded software in C/C
  • At least 1 years Linux OS use ideally for an embedded environment
  • Object-oriented software development experience
  • Agile Scrum development experience
  • Ability to plan track and report on progress
  • CI/CD software
  • Linux OS use for an embedded environment
