Steeles Transportation Group (Steeles) specializes in providing scheduled LTL Freight in Alberta and local pickup and delivery from our terminal hubs located in Calgary and Edmonton. Steeles has a strong reputation for our service which we have been building since 1957 when the company was founded by Eric and Kathleen Steele. Dennis Steele who joined the family business in 1987 leads and operates Steeles as a business partnership under FMi Logistics Group Inc.
Steeles is an asset-based business which utilizes a fleet of dedicated equipment which includes company-owned assets and owner-operator-owned equipment working as subcontractors along with carrier partners to provide safe timely and competitive freight delivery services throughout Alberta. Our main area of service occurs in the busy corridor between Calgary Red Deer and Edmonton and we do have staff and/or drivers based in each of these major cities.
Title: Customer Services Coordinator
Job Summary:
CSC support our customers by identifying what and when they need their assets shipped and then recommending the service we can offer providing quotes for service and getting orders booked for dispatch through to billing for our service. CSC may be assigned specific customer accounts which are typically our higher-profile customers with larger volumes of transactions or specific requirements. Also to provide updates and communicate information during transit and post-delivery. CSCs are also trained to dispatch our drivers to execute service so that they can support and back-up dispatchers in times of absence. This is part of the career progression in this role.
Job Responsibilities:
1. Emails Calls & Portal
Booking orders and creating quotes as per customer request.
Supporting customers giving quotes booking orders and providing eta.
Accepting new orders/tenders. Spot quotes.
For Service SOPs and Updating Driver Bills
Billing customers for our service per their agreed rates and calculating driver bills.
Create and update customer SOPs.
Support
Cross-trained to provide dispatch support and coverage as required
Assigning work to drivers and dispatching accordingly
Routing manifests
Building and completing manifests daily
Problem-solving and resolutions.
Responding to the drivers messages and phone calls promptly
Communicating with customers (customer service support)

and Experience Requirements
Supply Chain and Logistics Student 4th year
1 year of experience is preferred.
Freight management knowledge can be an asset.
Knowledge of commercial vehicles and trailers is an asset
Conditions:
- An internship opportunity (17 weeks - Winter 2026) for students in Logistics/Supply Chain Management/ Business/ or related fields (preferably 4th-year students/ graduating students).
- A Work Integrated Learning agreement signed by the student and their academic institution confirming that the placement furthers their studies is a must to submit.
- A proof of enrolment for the term that they are applying for is required.
- A learning plan written by the student and signed by them and the employer is required.
- Able to start by January 2026 second week.
