Job Summary

Job Summary

The Driver position is a safety-sensitive position that requires a high degree of responsibility transporting staff patients and visitors in a safe timely and professional manner. The driver must be able to operate vehicle in all weather and driving conditions with multiple distractions. Drivers are required to perform vehicle inspections minor repairs and cleaning duties. They are also responsible for monitoring parking areas and grounds for potential security issues.

Essential Functions

  • Provides transportation for employees guests and community groups to and from various locations
  • Performs limited maintenance and care of department vehicles and equipment. Notifies supervisor of anticipated repair needs as appropriate
  • Uses the radio to appropriately communicate with dispatch and other shuttle drivers while in route.
  • Monitors parking area and grounds for suspicious activity or hazards and reports them to the appropriate department
  • Ensures appropriate documentation is completed in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with regulations and department policy

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be 25 years of age for Valet
  • Must have excellent driving record
  • LIC-Chauffeur License - STATEMI State of Michigan 30 Days
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association Not required for Spectrum Health Lakeland. 90 Days
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross Not required for Spectrum Health Lakeland. 90 Days

Preferred

  • 6 months of relevant experience
