Position Overview & Responsibilities
Responsible for preparing lessons instructing students with a wide range of abilities assessing student learning collecting and analyzing student data to plan instruction creating an engaging and respectful classroom environment communicating with students parent and multiple stakeholders maintaining accurate records supervising students participating in school improvement initiatives and learning professionally. This is a district-wide position assigned to a specific building. The Building Substitute Teacher will primarally fill absences among certified staff but may be assigned to before and after school duty lunch duty supervision and other duties. The Building Substitute may also be assigned to fill support staff abences and may be assigned to other buildings on a daily or semi-permanent based based on the needs of the district.
Start date:October 23 2025 or as determined.
FTE: 1.0
Contract:Student contact days only for the remainder of the 2025-2026 School Year.
Contract Length:October 23 2025 or as soon as can be arranged through Employee Services throughJune 4 2025 plus one additional on-boarding session at the district office paid separately at a rate of $21.87/hour.
Schedule: 7:30am-3:30pm Monday-Friday student contact days only.
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelors degree and required substitute teaching license or regular teaching license (short-call long-call or lifetime substitute teaching license or Tier 3 or Tier 4 teaching license).
Salary & Benefits
Competitive salary and benefits Range: $26220 to $27600 for full a 138 days (less for a later start date). To be eligible for the higher level of pay must have worked in the STMA School District as a licensed teacher in a full-time long-term substitute building substitute or daily substitute capity for at least 60 student contact days during the 2024-2025 school year.

Benefit eligibility will run from October 23 2025 - June 30 2026.
This position is eligible for the same benefits contributions and benefits elections as our certified staff; however the certified staff collective bargaining agreement does not apply to this position.
