The Role:

A Market Intelligence Account Manager facilitates coordinates and aids strategic commercial and product activity with our key regional customer this role you are spearheading the commercial efforts and marshalling to grow relationships and the overall book of business with our key clients in Africa. The Account Manager will serve as the dedicated client partner taking the time to understand each clients unique business needs and serve as the primary connector between the customer and our various teams be it sales product customer success or billing. Account Managers will offer segment focused workflow expertise to ensure that clients receive tailored best in class support. You will operate with the Regional Head of Account Management for the Middle East Africa and South Asia that will cover all our clients within South Africa.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of clients for S&P Global Market Intelligence within South Africa

  • Work closely with our sales and business leaders to create a client segment strategy

  • Monitor and evaluate key customer strategies business trends and operational priorities

  • Provide transparent financial and operational assessment of the health of our customer relationships

  • Establish relationships and connectivity with senior level executives of these organizations

  • Accountable to each other to collaborate for the benefit of their sales and business partners to drive the commercial success of the division

  • Develop industry specific knowledge drive thought leadership across the sales and marketing organization

  • Engage in team selling to all accounts in conjunction with sales specialists

What Were Looking For:

We are looking for an individual with ability to manage and grow relationships within existing business and understand the complexities across multiple solutions

Minimum and Preferred Experience/Skills:

  • Must be able to see and clearly communicate the company vision and the revenue strategy across all relevant functions and ensure the right goals are defined and met

  • Proven track record within Account Management

  • Proven experience in managing large complex clients and ability to effectively work in a large organization

  • Strong communication organization presentation and negotiation skills

  • Relevant industry experience and a consistent record in building high performing teams

  • Confidence in navigating and building relationships with C-Level executives

  • Well-balanced strategic and operational mindset. Strong discipline around long-term planning as well as near-term pipeline tools and reporting

  • Ability to make difficult decisions and set priorities based on imperfect information

  • Demonstrated advanced analytical skills and ability to deliver action-based reporting


Customer Focus (Internal & External):

  • Build strategic relationships with key executives to support business needs and long-term partnership opportunities.

  • Communicate complex ideas effectively across functions and levels negotiating solutions that align with strategic goals.

  • Engage in high-level strategic meetings with key clients to foster relationships and discuss partnership opportunities.

Experience:

  • 5 years of experience in Sales/Account Management
