Job Summary
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate librarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing excellent library services fostering a love of reading and learning and engaging with the community. Responsibilities:
- Assist patrons in locating library materials both in print and electronic formats
- Provide reference and research assistance to patrons including helping with database searches and information inquiries
- Develop and maintain library collections including selecting materials for purchase and managing acquisitions
- Plan and implement library programs and events for all ages such as storytime sessions book clubs and workshops
- Collaborate with community organizations and schools to promote literacy and library services
- Assist with library technology including troubleshooting issues with computers printers and other equipment
- Participate in library outreach efforts including visiting schools senior centers and other community locations
- Perform other duties as assigned by library management
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program
- Strong customer service skills and a friendly approachable demeanor
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Familiarity with library cataloging systems and online databases
- Knowledge of current trends in library services and information technology
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Experience working with diverse populations preferred
Required Skills:
Bachelors degree in Education or a related field. Teaching certification. Proven experience as a Primary Social science Teacher (1 - 3) years Excellent Communication Skills. Strong passion for education and fostering a love for Social Science in young learners Should have good knowledge of subject with good experience. Students handling skills in the classroom.
