About the Role

Full Time Parental Leave Contract ASAP - September 2026.

The primary purpose of the position is to assist the Marketing and Communications team to ensure consistency of brand messaging and imagery across all marketing and communications. The Marketing and Communications Officer works collaboratively with key internal and external stakeholders to lead the development and production of print and digital communications.

Duties

Writing Communications and Publications

  • Support the production of the schools print and digital publications
  • Support the delivery of the Annual School Magazine publication writing editing and proofing content.
  • Draft and edit content for a range of Marketing purposes including event flyers invitations editorial advertising
  • Interview talent and write stories for all BGS publications including social media web and email copywriting.
  • Support with the production of the BGS podcast overseeing agency and stakeholder relationships and coordinating content and talent.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders to collect content material for the various publications across BGS.
  • Assist with the creation and distribution of the weekly eNewsletter including sourcing articles and images as well as writing and editing and publishing content for the parent community.
  • Monitor and evaluate communication materials to assess effective engagement and provide recommendations to adapt future materials for improvement.
  • Draft edit and proof external communications to ensure content aligns with the BGS brand.

General Marketing and Team Requirements

  • Support the wider team with the collection and storage of photographs for promotional material.
  • Provide photography support assist with photo shoots when required.
  • Contribute to the BGS website and online presence to increase accessibility to an array of information resources and online publications. Ensure content is updated and continually maintained improving search engine optimisation (SEO).
  • Assist with placement and monitoring of the various digital advertising channels specifically social media.
  • Coordinate photos for the School Magazine including photo schedules photographer and staff requirements and the approval process.


Skills And Experiences

Qualifications

  • A bachelors degree qualification or relevant experience in Journalism Communication or Marketing.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience writing editing and publishing communications for community clients and corporate stakeholders
  • Effective communication skills to engage and liaise with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong writing skills across a variety of print and digital mediums.
  • Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and multitask.
  • Photography skills desired but not essential.

Professional Development
