Platform Engineer Data Governance & Cloud (HRI Discovery)

About the client:
Our client is a major enterprise driving secure compliant data management for critical business operations. This role is pivotal in implementing data governance classification and access policy management across cloud data assets.

About the role:
We are seeking a skilled Platform Engineer with expertise in data governance classification and cloud data engineering. Youll lead initiatives to define and enforce data standards implement access policies and develop scalable ETL pipelines to support analytics and operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and support data governance and classification framework initiatives.
Implement and maintain data access policies for secure compliant data usage.
Collaborate with data stewards compliance teams and business units to define and enforce data standards.
Design and develop scalable ETL pipelines and data workflows.
Deploy and manage secure scalable data infrastructure on cloud platforms (AWS Azure GCP).
Ensure data quality integrity and consistency across systems.
Support data discovery cataloguing and documentation.
Troubleshoot and optimise data pipelines for performance and reliability.

Required Experience:
Strong understanding of data governance principles classification models and access control mechanisms.
Experience implementing data policies and working with governance tools (Collibra Alation Informatica).
Hands-on experience with ETL development data engineering and cloud platforms.
Proficiency in SQL Python or Scala.
Experience with Snowflake and Databricks highly preferred.
Familiarity with data modelling data warehousing and big data technologies.
Prior experience in the banking or financial services industry is a strong advantage.
