The Marketing Manager leads strategic marketing efforts to elevate Frontiers digital and academic presence in China. This role focuses on driving visibility for flagship initiatives such as Frontiers for Young Minds Frontiers in Science and the Planet Prize through integrated campaigns data-driven insights and team leadership. By leveraging BI tools and market analytics the Marketing Manager supports decision-making and ensures alignment with global brand goals.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and evolve marketing strategies to enhance the impact of Frontiers publications and initiatives.
Design and execute multi-channel campaigns across social media academic networks and events.
Use BI tools and market research to deliver actionable insights on trends competitors and audience behavior.
Monitor citation performance and collaborate with journal teams to promote high-impact content.
Lead and mentor Marketing Specialists fostering team development and performance.
Build partnerships with academic institutions influencers and media to expand brand reach.
Align marketing initiatives with organizational goals through cross-functional collaboration.
Report on key KPIs (e.g. article impact citation trends engagement) and optimize activities accordingly.
Represent Frontiers at conferences webinars and industry events to promote published research.
Skills & Experience
6 years in marketing including 3 years in a managerial roleideally in academic publishing or a related field.
Strong understanding of publishing workflows and citation drivers.
Advanced proficiency in BI and analytics tools (e.g. Tableau Excel Web of Science).
Experience translating complex data into clear actionable insights.
Familiarity with citation metrics and digital marketing analytics.
Proven leadership and team development capabilities.
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Strategic mindset with attention to detail and results orientation.
Bachelors degree or higher in Marketing Communications Business Data Science or related field.
Demonstrated success in campaigns that increased content visibility and academicimpact
