Job Summary

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS AND SALES
About theposition and the team:
SC Rigging is a rigging provider performing lifting and heavy equipment services. We pride ourselves on a reputation known for delivering safe reliable and innovative solutions across industries like construction energy and more. With a commitment to excellence we are adding a new leader to our team to further support our continued growth. This position will be overseeing a team of three direct reports each in various operational roles. This leadership role will require a balance of hands-on operational oversight and strategic sales execution. Each aspect must maintain a strong focus on safety efficiency and client satisfaction.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate comes to us with a history of experience in the Rigging or Crane industry.
Role and Responsibilities:
Operational Responsibilities-
- Develop and implement best practices and Standard Operating Procedures for both field work and documentation of jobs or projects.
- Direct the operations employees on the scheduling and calendar of projects.
- Follow up on the execution of projects to ensure work was completed fully both in the field and administratively through paperwork documentation.
- Advise the Project Managers on solutions for unique projects to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of services.
- Provide support and direction as needed to the Dispatcher.
- Collaborate closely with executive leadership on strategic goals and budgets.
Sales Responsibilities-
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in our target markets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with our existing clients.
- Prepare and deliver proposals quotes and presentations directly to prospective clients.
- Track sales metrics and forecasts to provide updates on pipeline of sales.
- Attend industry events and client meetings.
Location:
This position will require in-person reporting to our main office located at 2900 Black Lake Place Philadelphia PA 19154. Additional travel to client sites in the Greater Philadelphia area will be required and compensated.
Required Skills:
- Must have experience in rigging and/or crane industries. Seeking candidates with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
- Prior experience in management roles.
- Understanding of sales techniques and best practices.
- Excellent communication leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commitment to industry safety practices.
- Valid drivers license due to travel requirements in the Philadelphia area.
- Comfortable with basic Microsoft products such as Word Excel Outlook and PowerPoint. (Advanced skills not required.)
Preferred Skills and Education:
- Bachelors degree in business management Sales Logistics or another major is valued but not required to apply.
- OSHA certifications are preferred.
- Experience with any of the following software is greatly valued:
- Fleet Cost and Cares NexGen program
- Fleet Cost and Cares mobile app Atom
Physical Requirements
- Regularly requires a high degree of mental efforttalk and hear gross and fine manipulation read both print and screens for extended periods of time.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
- Frequently required to walk and sit
- Occasionally required to reach with hands and armslift 25 lbs. max stand and stoop kneel or crouch and climb stairs
- Expected to work in a moderately loud level of volume environment.
