Position Objective:
The PL Band Lead is responsible for leading the band in leading worship for all PL gatherings to model to junior high and high school campers a genuine Christian lifestyle provide for camper safety and well-being while befriending campers to nurture spiritual growth and cultivate spiritual disciplines through programs and curriculum in a manner consistent with MHAs mission vision and values.
General Qualifications:
The Ponderosa Lodge (PL) Band Lead is a Ministerial position. Ministerial staff render their work stewardship relationships and behavior as evidence of being followers of Jesus Christ while embracing and affirming Mount Hermon Association Inc.s (MHA) mission vision and beliefs. They are responsible for defining cultivating and leading MHAs Christian community conference programs and retreats.
Key Job Accountabilities:
- Lead worship at PL during Forum times and some staff meetings.
- Work with the PL Forum Coordinator for worship and music to enhance all programming.
- Actively participate with enthusiasm watching for teachable moments with campers.
- Serve as needed during busy times in a variety of activities and implementation of program especially in the recording studio or the fountain.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the PL Forum Coordinator.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Qualifications
Education/Certifications/Licenses:
- Some college experience preferred.
- CPR First Aid Certified (before arriving at camp).
Work Experience:
- Prior experience working with junior high and high school students.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to articulate the gospel of Jesus Christ as communicated in Scripture.
- Ability to demonstrate a personal committed and thought-through faith in Christ.
- Positive role model listener enthusiastic leader and friend.
- Possess creativity willingness to learn and ability to teach.
- A heart to serve whenever needed.
- Ability to engage in a variety of outdoor activities.
Physical Demands:
The physical environment requires the employee to work both inside and outside in heat/cold wet/humid and dry/arid conditions. Requires seeing sitting standing squatting stooping twisting and hiking.
Additional Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age due to the requirement for onsite community living.
- Adherence to the basic principles as expressed in MHAs Mission Vision Values and Commitment statements.
- Adherence to company dress code and professional standards for personal grooming and appearance.
- Commitment to being part of the leadership team within the camp community and investing in staff during camp sessions and weekends.
- Commitment to spending time serving campers and helping to create a great experience for them.
- Satisfactory completion of background investigation as well as ability to provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
