Caterpillar has an exciting opportunity for a Communications Specialist supporting the Strategic Procurement & Planning Division. As a Communications Specialist you will work to create employee communications content and participate in the execution of employee communications programs within the organization. This work is a key function of the division that allows for true engagement and collaboration across the organization. This position supports the division communications team to execute internal communications plans in support of our strategy and business goals. What You Will Do:

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and advise on the suitability of approaches for communication efforts
• Track and analyze metrics to measure the effectiveness of internal communications
• Assist in the planning and creation of content for employee communication channels; ensure that messaging and branding are consistent across all channels
• Develop and distribute communications materials to division and enterprise stakeholders such as written communications presentation materials etc. to deliver key messages

What You Will Have (Required Skills):

• Education/Experience: Bachelors degree in communications or related experience
• Communicating for Impact and Interpersonal Relationships: Knowledge of the concepts tools and techniques for effective listening and communicating; ability to apply these theories to receive transmit and accurately interpret information and ideas to influence others in various situations. Knowledge of the techniques and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner
• Internal Communications: Knowledge of techniques and media for internal communications; ability to produce and distribute news newsletters and other communications materials targeted at the employees
• Multimedia Technologies and Copywriting and Editing: Knowledge of multimedia publishing technologies and procedures; ability to use installed audio visual and animation software tools to produce multimedia publications. Knowledge of copywriting and editing; ability to write review and edit texts and documents to promote key division and enterprise messages
• Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of the process of planning and arranging tasks and resources; ability to plan and organize both time and resources to get things completed while structuring and maintaining work in a systematic and highly methodical way
• Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment

• This position is located in Peoria IL or Irving TX
• Domestic relocation assistance is available for those who qualify

• International and Domestic travel up to 5%
