Salary Information:

***The Target Pay Range typically considered for this position is $104772 - $146784 (Range of Consideration) annually. The Full Pay Range for this WMS Band is $82344 - $146784 (Full band range) annually. Compensation decisions are determined using factors such as job-related skills experience and education or training. We will consider your individual qualifications should we make you an offer.

DOSH is looking for our next Senior Operations Managera forward-thinking leader who thrives on turning big ideas into lasting results.

As DOSHs Senior Operations Manager reporting directly to the Deputy Assistant Director youll be at the center of innovation and implementationdriving operational excellence shaping strategy and ensuring Washington continues to meet and exceed Federal OSHA standards.


Your leadership will directly influence how DOSH delivers on its mission to keep 3.3 million workers safe across our state. This is your chance to make things happennot only by envisioning improvements but by carrying them out and seeing them through.

Duties

In this role you will:

  • Lead and empower a talented team of 36 professionals including IT training and program managers.
  • Oversee statewide operations from information technology systems to training audits facilities and performance management.
  • Champion innovation by finding smarter better ways to deliver safety and health services.
  • Drive strategic planning and performance management to align DOSH priorities with agency-wide goals.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership with delegated authority when senior leaders are unavailable.
  • Shape the future by leading major cross-division initiatives advancing internal training programs and ensuring operational effectiveness.

Education/Experience (required):

  • A bachelors or masters degree in public administration business safety political or social science or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of progressive management and leadership experience in the public sector (or equivalent mix of education and experience).

  • A track record of leading complex programs and making operations run smarter and better.
  • Experience designing and running training programs that build leadership and strengthen workforce performance.
  • Comfort with IT systems and strategy in a large organization.
  • Strong knowledge of public sector leadership regulatory processes and performance measurement.
  • The ability to balance competing priorities manage in a political environment and build strong partnerships.
  • Clear and confident communication skillswritten verbal and with stakeholders.
  • Solid HR leadership skills (recruitment coaching fair hiring building diverse teams).
