Restorative Justice Coordinator |
Location: St. Louis MO 63118 Department: Schools / Culture & Student Support Reports To: School Leader or Director of Culture Classification: Full-Time / Exempt Annual Salary Range: - Starting Salary: $45000 (commensurate with experience)
- Plus a $3000 signing bonus
(Eligible for performance-based stipends and opportunities for advancement.) Position SummaryThe High School Restorative Justice Coordinator (RJC) at Kairos Academies plays a vital role in building and sustaining a positive safe and accountable school culture. The RJC leads behavioral investigations coordinates student reentry processes implements restorative practices and serves as a visible presence and role model throughout the school day. This position balances empathy with high expectations ensuring every student feels safe heard and supported while upholding the standards that make Kairos a thriving community. The ideal candidate is grounded in restorative justice culturally responsive discipline and the belief that all students can grow through relationships reflection and accountability. Core ResponsibilitiesIncident Investigation & Documentation- Conduct and document 100% of behavioral incident investigations in alignment with Kairos Behavior Matrix.
- Collect statements review evidence and maintain all required records in Deanslist and internal tracking systems.
- Communicate findings and outcomes with relevant staff and leadership promptly and professionally.
Reentry & Follow-Up- Facilitate in-person reentry meetings for Tier 3 suspensions ensuring every student has a clear and supportive plan before returning to class.
- Document reentry plans and follow up with staff students and families to ensure accountability and reintegration.
- Partner with the Director of Culture Principal and counseling team to align restorative steps with ongoing supports.
Behavior Tracking & Interventions- Monitor daily behavior data via Deanslist celebrating positive trends and identifying students who need additional support.
- Collaborate with the Director of Culture and counseling team to design targeted interventions and behavior support plans.
- Maintain accurate data logs and reports to inform schoolwide trends and interventions.
Restorative Practices & Culture Leadership- Facilitate restorative circles peer mediations and reflection activities to promote empathy conflict resolution and repair.
- Lead classroom and community-building circles to strengthen belonging and relationships across campus.
- Model effective de-escalation communication and relationship-repair strategies for students and staff.
Partnership & Presence- Maintain a strong visible presence during transitions lunch arrival and dismissal to ensure safety and consistency.
- Collaborate with staff to uphold schoolwide expectations and positive culture systems.
- Serve as a connector between students families and staff ensuring consistent communication and care.

- Grounded in restorative justice equity and culturally responsive discipline.
- Organized dependable and timely in documentation and communication.
- Reflective proactive and eager to partner with staff to improve systems and culture.
- A believer in high expectations second chances and continuous student growth.
QualificationsRequired: - High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelors degree preferred).
- Experience working with youth in educational counseling or community-based settings.
- Familiarity with restorative practices conflict resolution or behavioral intervention.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Google Suite and student information systems.
- Eligible to work for any employer in the U.S. and able to pass background checks.
Preferred: - Bachelors degree in Education Social Work Psychology or a related field.
- Experience using Deanslist or similar behavior tracking platforms.
- Training in trauma-informed care or youth mental health support.
- Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) strongly preferred but not required.
Work Schedule & Environment- MondayFriday 7:30 AM 4:30 PM.
- Occasional evenings or weekends for family engagement school events or community programs.
- Fast-paced relational work environment requiring adaptability consistency and empathy.
- On-site role at Kairos Academies in St. Louis MO.
