Are you organised detail-oriented and ready to support a busy stores environment

Penrith City Council is seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team in a casual Stores (Administration & Operations) role. Based at the Kingswood Depot this position supports both the administrative and operational functions of the stores team.

Youll play a key role in managing inventory transactions processing orders maintaining accurate records and delivering high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Duties include:

  • Entering and managing data for purchase orders and warehouse transactions
  • Receiving and issuing inventory items
  • Maintaining accurate records of stock levels and inventory movements
  • Managing and updating the stores catalogue and stock database
  • Ordering goods and services as required
  • Providing responsive customer service to internal departments and external suppliers
  • Supporting the Stores Lead in coordinating daily operations and resolving issues

Essential Criteria:

  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail
  • Sound problem solving and negotiation skills
  • Sound proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and financial management systems such as SAP or Finance 1

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience in purchasing and warehousing activities
  • Understanding of warehouse/inventory management skills
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Forklift licence

Commencing salary: $35.24 per hour plus 12% Superannuation.

You will be required to undertake employment checks which may include a Criminal History Check Qualification Check Working with Children Check Medical Declaration and/or a Functional Test as relevant to the position for which you have applied. Where a Criminal History Check is required and has returned a result that indicates disclosable court outcomes you will be required to provide a copy of the report to Penrith City Council for review in order to progress through the recruitment process.
