The Student Support Coordinator plays a pivotal role in fostering academic success personal development and overall well-being for students within the College of Education. This position serves as a key point of contact for undergraduate and graduate students providing guidance support services and coordination of resources to ensure a positive and successful academic experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support and case management for students experiencing academic personal or financial challenges.
- Serve as a referral liaison to campus resources including counseling disability services financial aid and career services.
- Support students in navigating academic policies procedures and appeals (e.g. withdrawal leave of absence grievance processes).
- Participate in student success initiatives including orientation programs peer mentoring and academic support workshops.
- Coordinate retention efforts and monitor student progress in collaboration with faculty and academic advisors.
- Maintain and manage communication with students through newsletters targeted outreach and event promotion.
- Track student engagement and retention data; prepare reports to inform decision-making.
- Serve on college- and university-level committees related to student support wellness and success.
- Collaborate with faculty staff and administration to develop proactive strategies for student retention and achievement.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in education student affairs counseling or a related field.
- Minimum of 23 years of experience in student services advising or higher education support roles.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations.
