AECOM Technical Services Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineer in Phoenix AZ.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design geometric layouts for inductive loop detectors ramp meters and dynamic message signs (DMS) on freeway mainlines and on-ramps in accordance with the DOT ITS Design Guide to enhance freeway level of service.
- Arrange and lay out trunkline and branch conduits equipment cabinets and communication node buildings in compliance with the DOT ITS Design Guide to ensure power and communication pathway redundancy.
- Configure closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems to ensure coverage of freeway mainlines interchanges and DMS locations following the ADOT ITS Design Guide to enhance operational safety for the traveling public. Develop project plan sets and design layouts for highway Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and illumination and systems.
- Create 3D models of highway illumination systems incorporating elements such as light poles underpass luminaires junction boxes and other electrical/ITS devices using OpenRoads.
- Identify and resolve clashes between structures drainage illumination and ITS facility 3D model in OpenRoads collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth construction processes.
- Perform electrical calculations including voltage drop analysis to determine conductor specifications and optimize power distribution networks for highway lighting and ITS devices.
- Work closely with electrical engineers to specify transformers conduits and backup power systems to ensure reliable and compliant operations.
- Local telecommuting permitted up to 4 days per week.
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
- Candidates must have a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a related field of study and 2 years of experience as a Civil Engineer Civil Engineering Consultant Structural Engineer or a related occupation.
- Alternatively employer will consider Masters degree in Civil Engineering or a related field of study and no experience.
- Employer will accept experience and skills gained in pursuit of university-level degree via coursework projects or internships. Skills may be gained concurrently.
- Experience in the following: AGi32; Autodesk Revit or Bentley OpenRoads Designer; Audodesk Civil 3D or Bentley Microstation; Illumination System Design; Voltage Drop Analysis; Intelligent Transportation Systems Design; Independent completion of at least one Civil 3D or Microstation Project; and independent completion of at least one Revit or OpenRoads Designer 3D Modeling Project.
- E.I.T. (Civil) Certification required.
