Reports To: Director of Technology

Pay Grade: Supervisor Schedule Grade 9 Step 1 - Starting at $85345

Schedule: 40 hours per week/52-week position

Job Summary: The Technology Data & Integration Support Specialist provides technical support for implementations and integrations across district systems including Student Information Systems (SIS) Human Resource/Finance systems and instructional or assessment platforms. This position ensures integrations are designed implemented and monitored for data integrity security and efficiency.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in computer programming; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required skills knowledge and abilities
  • Minimum two years of experience supporting educational applications preferred

Technical Skills:

  • Strong experience building SQL queries Google Apps scripts and batch scripts
  • Experience with Python Java C HTML or other programming languages for building custom pages preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in systems migration and data quality checks

Essential Job Functions:

Data Integration & System Management:

  • Coordinate data exchange between district data systems
  • Oversee data integration processes including importing and exporting across platforms
  • Create and maintain custom program interfaces between the Student Information System (SIS) and other digital content software or databases
  • Plan create and manage data connections and automated communications between applications
  • Provide support with data hub integrations and other technical needs as requested

Data Quality & Compliance:

  • Monitor data for accuracy and completeness across all systems
  • Ensure high quality data in applications such as PowerSchool and other student employee and administrative systems
  • Ensure applications maintain compliance with applicable agency reporting requirements
  • Verify that external and internal regulations and policies governing data management are met including security auditability and privacy standards
  • Identify and resolve conflicts arising from the creation control and use of multiple data systems
  • Recommend and perform remedial actions to resolve data and system-related problems

Application Development & Reporting:

  • Design and develop enterprise-wide computer and web-based applications using appropriate database design techniques
  • Write interactive web applications that interface with or provide end-user access to various applications and backend database systems
  • Create ad hoc queries and complex reports using business intelligence tools
  • Assist users in extracting data and creating reports from data systems
  • Troubleshoot and modify existing reports and program interfaces
  • Write test debug and maintain computer programs using various programming languages and relational database management query methods

Process Improvement & Support:

  • Identify workflow processes as targets for increasing efficiency through technology application or process improvements
  • Develop and implement solutions to effect operational change
  • Work with user groups to define needs and translate requirements into effective program designs
  • Establish system parameters and develop formats for various reports and documents
  • Assist with testing software updates to ensure correct functionality
  • Consistent and reliable attendance
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described herein are representative of those that the employee must meet to successfully perform the functions of this position. The employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary position for long periods. The employee is also required to move about the building and required to open and close filing cabinets operate office equipment and computers. While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to stand walk sit use hands to finger handle or feel reach with hands and arms climb or balance stoop kneel crouch or crawl talk hear (in a quiet or noisy environment). The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision and ability to adjust/focus. The employee may travel to remote locations including other district buildings. The employee spends a majority of their time communicating with staff and administrators and must be able to exchange and record accurate information in these situations. Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the functions of this position. The noise level in the work environment is consistent with an office environment and is usually quiet but frequently busy. This position is frequently required to interact with staff and with the public which requires courtesy and discretion. A professional appearance and telephone manner is essential. The successful candidate will be able to multi-task and make independent decisions using sound judgment.
