Pay Rate XX18 XX19 per hour
Schedule & Rotation
- Standard shift: 8 hours per day
- Overtime as required
- Staggered schedule within a team of 3
- On-call rotation every 3 weeks
- Weekend and after-hours coverage as per rotation
Candidate Requirements
- Must be local and able to reach the shop for after-hours or weekend calls
- Forklift experience preferred
- Overhead crane and break-out machine experience preferred (training available if not experienced)
- Experience loading and unloading trucks
- Logistics or warehouse operations experience
- Computer proficiency in record keeping and system updates
Position Summary
The Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating and managing domestic and international movement of equipment materials and assets. This role supports business operations by optimizing transportation planning ensuring regulatory compliance controlling logistics costs and maintaining high service levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary logistics point of contact for assigned business operations
- Validate transport requests and required delivery timelines to ensure on-time delivery
- Plan and optimize equipment load configurations to maximize utilization
- Select cost-effective transportation modes and approved carriers or 3PLs
- Plan truck routings consolidate shipments and optimize backloads to reduce costs
- Monitor shipment execution and manage deviations while keeping stakeholders informed
- Manage fixed schedules and regional milk runs
- Issue work orders with appropriate cost approvals prior to each move
- Track logistics milestones and maintain accurate system records
- Assess carrier performance for on-time pickup and delivery
- Ensure compliance with transportation regulations company policies and QHSE standards
- Coordinate with import/export teams to ensure smooth logistics execution
- Identify logistics improvement opportunities and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Report deviations and corrective actions in the business system
- Participate in performance and service quality review meetings
