Buller District Council is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Administrator Infrastructure Services to join our Infrastructure Services this pivotal role you will provide high-quality administration support act as Executive Assistant to the Group Manager and ensure the smooth operation of critical functions within the department.

What Will You Do Ka aha koe
Key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide executive support to the Group Manager Infrastructure Services including diary management email coordination and reporting.
  • Deliver high-quality administrative support across the Infrastructure Services team ensuring accuracy in records meetings and communications.
  • Coordinate procurement processes including managing GETS tenders and purchase order systems.
  • Manage compliance and reporting databases and contribute to process improvements and document control.
  • Respond to internal and external enquiries with professionalism delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Support council functions including LGOIMA requests meeting administration and emergency management coordination as needed.

We are looking for someone with:


Essential:

  • Proven experience in administrative or executive assistant roles
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise
  • Strong computer literacy and confidence using digital systems and databases
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Team player with a professional courteous and resilient approach
  • Customer-focused mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Understanding of Local Government operations (especially in infrastructure)

Desirable:

  • Experience in infrastructure administration or similar sectors
  • Familiarity with local government legislation and compliance requirements
  • Sound understanding of political and public-sector sensitivities
  • Project management credentials.
