This role will play a crucial part of the UNITE team. UNITE is our business-led tech-enabled transformation and a key priority for the Group. Whats the role

Were looking for curious driven people who are ready to grow their careers in technology and delivery. As a Technical Business Analyst youll work within our Digital and Consumer Finance Technology team supporting major transformation programs that help make Westpac Australias favourite way to pay and borrow.

This is a hands-on role designed for someone early in their career returning to the workforce or looking to move from a technical or analytical background into project delivery. Youll partner with experienced Project Managers and Product Owners helping translate business needs into clear actionable requirements that bring customer-focused technology solutions to life. This role is open for both Gold Coast and Sydney locations and is a hybrid role with 3 days per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Product Owners engineers and project teams to capture business needs and document user stories.
  • Support the software development lifecycle by maintaining project documentation and assisting with release planning and testing.
  • Use tools like Jira and Confluence to track progress and ensure alignment across delivery teams.
  • Help identify opportunities to simplify processes improve systems and enhance the customer experience.
  • Contribute ideas and bring a growth mindset to every project youre part of.


What do I need

Essential:

  • 5-8 years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst.
  • Strong interest or background in technology (degree coding course or hands-on curiosity).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to bridge technical and business perspectives.
  • Organised proactive and comfortable working in a fast-moving Agile environment.
  • A collaborative attitude and a genuine passion for learning.

Desirable:

  • Exposure to Agile delivery Jira Confluence or other collaboration tools.
  • Understanding of software development or testing processes.
  • Experience in business or systems documentation.
