We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Tender Lead to join our Corrections and Justice (C&J) Tender Team. This role is pivotal in ensuring our tendering processes meet the highest standards and align with Government Procurement Rules and internal KPIs.Reporting toPerformance Manageryoull help deliver high-quality outcomes that support our essential services.

Te Kōwhiringa The Opportunity

Downer holds a long-term Asset Management and Facilities Management contract with the Department of Corrections and the Ministry of Justice that proactively manages and delivers to the national portfolio of facilities including 15 prisons 98 courts and 141 community correctional sites. This role can be based in either our Auckland or Wellington office.

What Youll Do

This role offers a broad scope with key responsibilities including:

  • Lead the successful preparation and submission of tenders for Corrections and Justice projects ensuring compliance with Government Procurement Rules and timely delivery within key performance indicators.

  • Manage the e-tendering platform and oversee the centralised Tenderbox mailbox to ensure all communications and documentation are handled efficiently.

  • Deliver high-quality administrative support within the Tender Team consistently meeting (and exceeding) expectations of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing enhancements to tendering systems and processes.

This is a fantastic role that will suit someone who is outcome-focused enjoys a challenge and is able to take initiative whilst building great relationships with our team and client.

  • Proven experience in procurement within a construction or infrastructure environment.

  • A formal qualification in Quantity Surveying is strongly preferred and will be considered a significant advantage.

  • Strong administrative skills with a high level of attention to detail.

  • A confident friendly and professional approach to communication and collaboration.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet changing priorities and deadlines.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word Excel and Outlook.

  • The ability to pass a Police Check (required for this role).
