Motlow State is located in the beautiful rolling hills of middle Tennessee and has four campuses that serve students from eleven counties. General Function:
Establishes and implements recruitment and enrollment strategies in designated geographic areas for traditional and non-traditional students. Attract and enroll a qualified diverse student body in support of Motlow States mission and strategic plan.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associates Degree earned from a regionally accredited institution. Possess and maintain a valid Tennessee Drivers License (TNDL).
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree earned from a regionally accredited institution in Education Marketing Public Relations or related field. Two years of experience in higher education student services.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve independently as point person for geographical student recruitment utilizing specific admission financial aid scholarship and registration criteria and deadlines; Track and monitor enrollment data for counties within assigned region; Prepare reports and proposals regarding recruitment efforts and outcomes.
- Coordinate and implement recruitment programs and strategies related to high school graduates home school graduates under-represented groups and adult learners.
- Promote and maintain positive professional relationships with internal and external groups including institutional divisions high school counselors and administrators parents community members and organizations.
- Promote and represent the College at recruiting or other events including at high schools college fairs community events/workshops and related business functions including events that may be scheduled after normal business hours or weekends
- Provide information regarding admission requirements general financial aid requirements educational degree and certificate programs transfer options and associated benefits to prospective students.
- Maintain tour scheduling by providing regular availability of individual tour times and dates facilitate individual tours and provide service to community groups seeking tours.
- Provide multi-campus support during registration orientation and other special events.
- Travel to all Motlow campuses various locations and events both within and adjacent to the Motlow State service area.
- Assists with planning and support of New Student Orientation
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Communicate effectively both in writing and verbally with prospective students current students fellow employees college administrators and other stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies.
- Ability to develop and maintain positive and effective professional relationships with prospective or current students faculty staff executives K-12 Partners and other stakeholders
- Ability to relate effectively with people of varied academic cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds using tact diplomacy and courtesy as demonstrated through excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to develop professional documents and make individual or group presentations to audiences including prospective students families K-12 Partners faculty staff executives and other stakeholders
- Knowledge of applicable college policies and local State and Federal laws codes and regulations concerning college pathways confidentiality statutes and policies as they apply to FERPA admissions financial aid programs and other areas that affect student enrollment and persistence
- Strong computer skills including but not limited to Microsoft Office suite Ellucian Banner Ellucian Degree Works Argos word processing spreadsheets e-mail database and internet
