Working 36.5 hours per week

We are seeking an knowledgeable and motivated Home Ownership Manager to come and join Birmingham City Councils Home Ownership Team.

The Home Ownership Team manage Right to Buy and Leasehold Management managing stock of 6500 leaseholders and 59000 Council tenants.

This role will be responsible for managingthe Home Ownership Officers and the Home Ownership Assistants to ensure an efficient and customer focused Home Ownership service is being provided. This role will work collaboratively with internal/external stakeholders and Council teams to ensure City Wide long term agreements that require S20 Consultation is carried out compliantly.

Key responsibilities:

  • To manage the Home Ownership team and effectively co-ordinate their work to achieve set targets of the service within the SLA.
  • To implement service improvements for the team leaseholders tenants and stakeholders.
  • To attend community meetings.
  • To monitor team performance review targets and review working procedures.
  • To oversee service charge and major works arrears collection across the City.
  • To monitor and review the city wide S20 Consultation.
  • To handle service complaints escalated complaints and carry out investigations.
  • To develop and improve internal processes including IT solutions to streamline the service.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience in managing a team and delivering a high-performing services.
  • Strong communications skills verbally and in writing across a range of internal/external stakeholders leaseholders and tenants.
  • A good understanding of Housing Legislation especially the specialist areas Leasehold and RTB.
  • Motivated and driven to improve performance especially income recovery - service charge and major works arrears.
  • The ability to manage conflicting prioritise.
  • A commitment in delivering excellent customer service to our tenants and leaseholders.
