JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for the operational management of the department. Lead develop and implement a long-range vision for all business functions including land use transportation building services neighborhood support property maintenance housing economic development arts and culture and transit. Responsible for the development and support of leadership and promoting the overall culture and vibrancy of the department. Serves as a critical partner in furthering the vision and mission of the Administration in building a thriving and dynamic community.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in business administration public administration urban planning or related field and a minimum of six (6) years progressively responsible experience in public administration including housing planning development or code enforcement including supervisory responsibilities; or any such combination of education experience and training as may be acceptable to the hiring authority. An advanced degree in public administration or related field is desirable.
American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP) certification is strongly preferred.
Possession of a valid drivers license is desirable.

The City participates in the South Dakota Retirement System. Employees receive a 6% match. Additionally employees may choose to enroll in a Deferred Compensation Plan.

New employees are granted 40 hours of vacation at time of hire and accrue an additional 2 weeks in their first year.
