Were currently looking for a detail-oriented motivated Accountant to join our fiscal team. This role is essential in helping us maintain accurate State and Federal accounting and ensuring that payments to vendors and clients are made on time. But you wont be on your own! Payment Processing & Financial Support

  • Collaborate with team members to prepare accurate and timely payment documents following established accounting policies and procedures.
  • Support a range of agency-specific processes in WOLFS (Wyoming Online Financial System) including accounts payable transactions travel reimbursements CMS transactions and P-card paymentsalways with an eye toward budget alignment and efficiency.

Vendor Management

  • Work closely with the team to maintain and enter Vendor Management Forms in WOLFS.
  • Help keep our Vendor Management tracking sheet current and accurate and ensure staff are promptly informed when vendors are activated with the State of Wyoming.

Cross-Team Support & Compliance

  • Partner with colleagues to ensure that all program purchases comply with statutory procurement agency and accounting policies.
  • Serve as a resource for teammates by helping to answer questions and clarify policies and procedures always with professionalism and a solutions-focused approach.
  • Contribute to maintaining strong internal controls by researching and analyzing financial data in WOLFS and by helping identify and support corrective actions when needed.

Project Collaboration

  • Assist the Fiscal Manager with a variety of special projects including gathering and analyzing data to support informed decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.

KNOWLEDGE:

While not all of these are required experience or familiarity with the following is helpful:

  • Basic financial calculations and data analysis
  • Internal control processes and general accounting practices
  • Microsoft Excel and computerized accounting systems
  • Effective communicationboth written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:
Bachelors Degree (typically in Finance)
Experience:
0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Finance) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Accounting Technician
OR
Education & ExperienceSubstitution:
3-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Finance) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Accounting Technician
