Job Summary

The Mundy Companiesa leader in the industrial maintenance services and construction fields is currently hiringthe following 2-3 week position in La Porte Texasarea:

PAINTER / SANDBLASTER
4 x 10 OT as needed
2-3 WEEKS
MUST BE WILLING TO HELP OTHER CRAFTS.

Successful candidates will have a minimum of three (3) years of continuous and current experience as an Industrial Painterin a petrochemical industrial or manufacturing environment. Industrial Painters prepare wood and metal surfaces for painting and paint equipment parts machinery buildings and other working areas using a spray gun brush and rollers.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Reads work order or receives instructions verbally
Prepares surface using method appropriate for surface to be painted
May fill cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface
Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color according to specifications using paddle or mechanical mixer
May erect scaffolding or set up ladder to perform tasks above ground level
Apply paint to surface using a spray gun brush or roller
Clean Surfaces of metal or hard compositions to remove sca;e sand paint grease tar or dirt to prepare specified finish using abrasive blasting equipment
shovel or pour abrasive of specified grade into machine hopper
mask specified areas of object to protect from sandblasting
regulate pressure and composition of abrasive mixture flowing through nozzle
direct blast or flow of abrasive ve laden air gas or liquid over surface to be blasted

The successful candidate will maintain a high degree of personal safety and environmental awareness at all time. This positions requires a strong commitment to safety quality and continuous improvement with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a safe efficient manner. The ability to communicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing is also qualified applicants must be craft certified or possess the ability to pass a craft test as well as the ability to pass a criminal background check pre-employment drug screen and other qualifications as required.
