Union Painter JLL
What this job involves:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable painter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and painting various
surfaces in a commercial setting. The ideal applicant should have a keen eye for detail excellent color-matching skills and the ability to work
efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
This position operates under the International Union of Operating Engineers: IUOE399.
What your day-to-day will look like:
Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning sanding scraping and applying primer as needed
Apply paint stain varnish and other finishes to various surfaces using brushes rollers and spray equipment
Tape off and protect surrounding areas while filling cracks holes and joints with appropriate materials
Set up scaffolding ladders and safety equipment to access work areas at various heights
Estimate project time and materials while tracking progress using electronic devices and project management tools
Maintain painting tools and equipment in proper working condition between projects
Follow all safety protocols while keeping work areas clean organized and compliant with regulations
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years experience as a painter (apprenticeship may be considered)
Thorough knowledge of painting techniques materials and color theory
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
Proficiency in using various painting tools and equipment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Physical stamina to work long hours sometimes in challenging positions
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Valid drivers license and clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
Vocational training or certification in painting
Experience with specialty finishes or decorative painting techniques
Knowledge of OSHA safety standard
Location:
Chicago IL.
Work Shift:
Sunday through Thursday 6 AM to 2 PM (8 hours shift)
Full-time 40 hours per week
Work Environment
Work is performed indoors and outdoors.
May involve working at heights on ladders scaffolding or lifts
Exposure to paint fumes dust and other potential irritants (proper PPE will be provided)
Some travel may be required between job sites
Some vaccination is required
Compensation:
Starting pay: $36.48 per hour.
Opportunity for overtime pay for hours worked beyond 40 per week
Pay increases are structured according to the terms set forth in the Collective Bargaining
Benefits:

Union Membership:
