Partner Staffing on behalf of our Client we are seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead large-diameter piling and shoring projects for commercial institutional and industrial developments in Alberta and across Western Canada. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in deep foundations ground engineering and heavy civil construction with proven leadership in delivering safe high-quality and efficient work on complex job sites.

As the field leader the Superintendent will oversee all site operations ensuring schedules budgets and safety targets are met while maintaining strong communication between project management field crews subcontractors and clients.




Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day field operations for large diameter piling and shoring projects including drilling casing installation concrete placement and anchor systems.
  • Supervise and coordinate field crews subcontractors and equipment resources to ensure efficient and safe execution.
  • Review project drawings specifications and work plans to ensure compliance with design and engineering standards.
  • Work closely with Project Managers and Engineers to plan daily work activities sequence operations and track progress.
  • Maintain and enforce all safety quality and environmental procedures in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee equipment mobilization material deliveries and logistics to minimize downtime and ensure productivity.
  • Conduct regular site inspections toolbox meetings and progress reports.
  • Identify potential issues and collaborate with engineering and management to develop effective solutions.
  • Mentor and develop field personnel to promote skill growth and adherence to company standards.
  • Foster positive relationships with clients consultants and inspectors to ensure clear communication and site cooperation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in piling shoring or deep foundation construction with at least 3 years in a Superintendent or Foreman capacity.
  • Strong technical understanding of large-diameter drilled piles secant walls soldier piles tiebacks and shotcrete shoring systems.
  • Experience working on commercial institutional or industrial projects in Western Canada preferred.
  • Proven leadership and organizational skills with a focus on safety quality and performance.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings specifications and geotechnical reports.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and clients.

Required Skills:

Requirements Minimum 4 years onsite construction experience Minimum 3 years of continuous superintendent or supervisory role experience (in construction field) Strong working knowledge of current construction methods drawings specifications and building codes Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of employment and other designated information Self-motivated creative thinking organized and efficiency Excellent Good oral and written communication skills Ability to effectively manage time responsibilities and priorities Demonstrated interpersonal leadership and team building skills Level 1 (minimum) First Aid certification and knowledge of (WHMIS) Systems Budgeting and estimating skills (computer word processing and spreadsheet programs an asset) Proficient with computers multifunctional processing units telephones and faxes Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and skills in data entry Valid drivers license
