Sentara Health is seeking to hire a qualified individual to join our team as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
Position Status: Full Time - Day Shift
Position Location: Sentara PACE - Norfolk VA - Requires travel within Hampton Roads
Overview
Performs basic and routine patient care such as personal hygiene toileting meal preparation and feeding checks vital signs intake/output ambulation and assists patient with transfer from/to bed toilet and other areas of the PACE center or in the home. For applicants having recently completed an approved Nursing Assistant Program/Trade School state CNA certification required within 120 days of hire. New hires with existing state CNA must be in good standing. American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Education
Graduate of a state approved Nursing Assistant program/Trade School program (Required)
Certification/Licensure
For applicants having recently completed an approved Nursing Assistant Program/Trade School program state CNA certification required within 120 days of hire.
New hires with existing state CNA must be in good standing.
American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Experience
Patient care support independent and dependent activities of daily living
Vital signs mobility and ambulation
Phlebotomy point of care testing EKG testing peripheral IV removal specimen collection and foley catheter insertion and removal
Comply with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional RN nurse
Observe patients physical mental and emotional conditions and document in a timely and accurate manner
