A Day in the Life

As a Joining Support Technician II at Medtronic Energy and Component Center (MECC) you will play a key role in ensuring the performance and reliability of Medtronics innovative products. Youll troubleshoot and maintain advanced laser and resistance welding equipment as well as accurately document results. Working closely with engineering and production teams youll help drive technical solutions and process improvements all while upholding the highest safety and quality standards. This position is ideal for technically skilled professionals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are eager to contribute to world-class medical technology.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Devises fabricates installs tests and repairs mechanical equipment and systems involving the movement of physical components in the manufacturing area.
  • Assisting engineers with developing technical solutions related to the operation and performance of devices and systems.
  • Installs repairs and upgrades components of mechanical devices and systems in the manufacturing area.
  • Devises fabricates and assembles new or modified mechanical components for machinery and equipment.
  • Conducts quality assurance/control tests and procedures.
  • Operates maintains troubleshoots calibrates and performs preventive maintenance on welding equipment.
  • Diagnoses isolates and resolves issues with welding equipment and processes supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions and escalating complex problems to the Joining Support engineers or senior technicians as needed.
  • Accurately records work and observations in designated equipment maintenance systems.
  • Collaborates with engineering quality and production teams to resolve issues implement solutions and assist in training new technicians or operators on welding procedures and equipment.
  • Ensures compliance with safety standards quality requirements and company procedures while maintaining a clean and organized work environment using workplace organization methods such as 5S.
  • Corrects malfunctions by adjusting or replacing parts or components as directed.
  • Uses hand and small power tools and various measuring and testing devices such as Digital multimeter as needed in performing job duties.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two or more years of experience in technical areas such as metallurgical electronic mechanical or related disciplines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with clients laboratory personnel and other teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs including Outlook Word and Excel.
  • Self-motivated detail-oriented and able to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute daily tasks.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision as well as working collaboratively with other technicians and technical experts.
  • Good electrical mechanical and problem-solving skill set.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

  • Requires minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Requires high school diploma or equivalent.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$50400.00 - $75600.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Operations Incentive Plan (OIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience certification/education market conditions and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
