Staff Engineer, Wet Area Manufacturing Process

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Responsible for process engineering in the Wet process areas (CMP Liftoff Wet Etch. Electroplating) in a high-volume 24x7 wafer fabrication environment.
2. Partner with a group of talented Process Engineers and Technicians that are responsible for maintaining key parameter control within tight specifications for both manufacturing and development wafers.
3. Drive yield and quality improvement projects:  Within-wafer uniformity of key parameters APC strategy optimization defects detection/elimination Failure Analysis and improvement of deviating processes chemistries consumables etc.
4. Work on cycle time and cost improvement:  Process recipe and chemical usage optimization wafer rework reduction Metrology optimization tool uptime etc.
5. Work on the selection procurement introduction and qualification of new Wet process tools materials and consumables.
6. Support the development qualification and manufacturing ramping of new products  

Qualifications :

REQUIRED:

1. Bachelors with 5 years or Masters with 3 years of experience in engineering field Ph.D preferred (Chemical Engineering Chemistry Material Science or related fields). 
2. Experience in wafer manufacturing techniques (CMP Electroplating Liftoff Photolithography etc.)
3. Experience in magnetic recording head fabrication is desirable.
4. Strong background in statistical data analysis and 6-sigma methodologies.
5. Demonstrate excellent leadership communication and presentation skills with ability to work in a cross-functional team setting.
6. Must possess manufacturing process engineering mindset ability to work in a high-pace dynamic environment and ability to multi-task.
7. Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and statistical analysis tools like JMP.

• An employees pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills ability knowledge of the job; (3) performance contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.
• The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California Colorado New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California Colorado and New York.  This range may be modified in the future.
• If your position is non-exempt you are eligible for overtime pay pursuant to company policy and applicable laws.  You may also be eligible for shift differential pay depending on the shift to which you are assigned.

• You will be eligible to be considered for bonuses under either Western Digitals Short Term Incentive Plan (STI Plan) or the Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance depending on your role and your performance.
