ResponsibilitiesCORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
Wellness Center Daily Operations and Member Services
- Handle daily operations including closing and occasionally opening the center as required laundry answering phones cleaning equipment and other tasks as assigned.
- Serve as a resource for members regarding exercise prescription. Conduct one-on-one personal training sessions and group training sessions.
- Conduct member fitness assessments including aerobic capacity tests body composition circumference measurements blood pressure strength endurance and flexibility testing.
- General fitness floor supervision.
- Must be available to work hours between 5:30 am - 7:00 pm. Flexibility for additional hours is beneficial.
- May be required to float between HQ and MGTC sites.
Group Exercise Instruction
- Plan and teach daily group exercise classes paying attention to current trends to meet members needs.
- Learn and implement the process for instructing virtual group exercise classes.
Incentive Programming/Education
- Collaborate with Wellness Team to design implement and evaluate wellness/fitness related programs.
- Provide monthly bulletin board and educational handouts on various health and wellness topics.
- Support Sherwin-Williams well-being initiatives and other related programs.
- Assist with and/or lead special interest groups such as volleyball leagues running groups etc.
QualificationsPOSITION REQUIREMENTS
FORMAL EDUCATION:
Required:
- Bachelors degree in Exercise Science Health Promotion or related field or Bachelors degree in another field with 1-3 years experience in the Fitness Industry with additional fitness certifications.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Required:
- CPR/AED Certified
- Group Exercise and/or Personal Training Certification or related degree.
- Previous experience leading group exercise classes of varying formats.
- Previous experience designing personal exercise programs and working one on one with clients of all fitness levels.
- Experience with taking blood pressure.
- Experience using Microsoft Office.
Preferred
- Experience designing implementing and evaluating fitness/wellness incentive programs.
- Experience with exercise testing including body composition.
- 2 or more years experience in Corporate Wellness.
TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
- Experience using Microsoft Office
- Experience taking blood pressure
- Experience teaching group exercise classes
- Experience personal training
Preferred:
