Thesis work description
In this masters thesis you will work to optimize the cryopreservation of organoids generated from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). You will be responsible for refining freezing and storage protocols to ensure organoid viability and quality upon addition you will perform a broad range of assays to characterize these organoidsassessing their viability functionality molecular and structural identity and performing comparisons based on multi-omics data.

This opportunity involves close interaction with expert teams in cell banking and omics technologies. If you have a background in cell biology biotechnology molecular biology or related fieldsand an interest in the latest methods in cell culture and bioanalyticsthis project will give you valuable skills and experience on the frontier of pharmaceutical research.

• Duration: Spring term 2026
• Credits: 30/60

Requirements:

• Ongoing masters studies within the life science field
• Scientific curiosity in cell culture sciences
• Experience with culturing cells (advanced cell types 3D models is a plus)
• Experience with imaging immunofluorescence studies
• Molecular biology techniques such as RNA isolation qPCR
• Analytical thinking prior laboratory research experience
