Job Description: Fast paced environment to inspect diagnose and repair pre-owned vehicles to meet dealership standards for safety and quality before sale handling routine maintenance mechanical and electrical issues. Key responsibilities include using diagnostic equipment to find problems performing repairs and part replacements maintaining accurate repair records and ensuring the vehicle is road-ready for customers. This role requires strong technical skills mechanical aptitude problem-solving abilities and communication skills to interact with service managers and sales teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Vehicle Inspection: Perform detailed inspections of pre-owned vehicles to identify mechanical electrical and safety issues.
Diagnostics: Use computerized equipment and specialized tools to diagnose the root cause of vehicle malfunctions.
Repair & Maintenance: Execute necessary repairs and conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes filter replacements and tire rotation.
Part Replacement: Replace worn-out parts including sensors brake pads and other components according to manufacturer and dealership standards.
Reconditioning: Perform work to recondition vehicles ensuring they meet quality and safety standards for resale.
Testing: Road-test vehicles after repairs are completed to confirm they are mechanically sound and functioning correctly.
Collaboration: Work closely with service advisors sales teams and parts departments to obtain parts and communicate repair needs.
Safety & Standards: Ensure all work adheres to safety protocols and dealership quality standards. Required Skills & Qualifications.
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of automotive systems including electrical mechanical and engine systems.
Diagnostic Equipment: Proficiency in using computerized diagnostic tools and other specialized equipment.
Mechanical Aptitude: Excellent mechanical and troubleshooting skills to identify and fix problems.
Communication Skills: Ability to clearly explain vehicle issues and repair options to other team members.
Record Keeping: Attention to detail and accuracy in documenting all services and repairs.
Basic Computer Skills: Ability to use computers for diagnostics record keeping and communication.
