Summary of Job Duties:

Were seeking a passionate and driven Post-Doctoral Fellow to join our innovative team advancing new approaches to support postpartum opioid use recovery. This position will take a leading role in developing and disseminating findings from NIH-funded studies exploring how caregiving social connections mood pain and hormones influence substance use during and after pregnancy. The role offers opportunities to expand into related areas such as maternal and infant health and to work with diverse data sources including electronic health records and disease registries. Youll receive strong mentorship from Dr. Alicia Allen Director of the National Center for Opioid Research and Clinical Efficacy (NCOR) and gain hands-on experience in advanced analytics scientific writing grant preparation and community collaboration. Remote work options are available for qualified candidates making this a flexible and career-building opportunity for an emerging researcher.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in epidemiology public health biostatistics nursing psychology neuroscience clinical/translational sciences or related field required.

  • Applicants who are All But Dissertation (ABD) for the terminal degree may be considered to be eligible for employment if the doctoral degree is conferred by the appointment start date.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Exceptional organizational skills.

  • Interest in maternal and child health substance use disorder or related areas of research.

  • Experience with preparing peer-reviewed publications.

  • Proficiency in statistical programming in R and/or SAS.

  • Candidates with a peer-reviewed publication record will be preferred especially those with experience as the first author and/or execution of analyses.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize existing data to propose new projects that are aligned with PI team and center goals.

  • Complete literature reviews.

  • Conduct statistical analyses.

  • Draft revise and submit manuscripts with co-authors for publication.

  • Draft revise and present research findings at conferences.

  • Participate in various related professional development activities.

  • Assist in the identification of applicable funding opportunities.

  • Complete literature reviews.

  • Assist with the drafting and revising of grant applications

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
