Senior AWS Platform Engineer
(Hybrid St. Louis MO)

Location: Clayton MO (Hybrid 3 days onsite)

Role Summary

Seeking a hands-on Senior Platform Engineer to help modernize and scale its AWS-based infrastructure.

Immediate priorities include:

Migrating CI/CD pipelines from Azure DevOps to GitHub Actions
Extending and refactoring Terraform modules for scalability and reuse
Building new reusable CI/CD deployment pipelines to support evolving application use cases

This is a deeply technical engineering role-ideal for someone who enjoys building automation writing infrastructure code mentoring peers and solving complex cloud challenges.

The environment is AWS-first leveraging ECS Fargate for containerized workloads. Terraform is already well-established but evolving for simplicity and broader coverage. The monitoring stack is Datadog-centric with active efforts to consolidate observability into a unified platform.

The Platform Engineering team culture is highly collaborative and shaping direction driving modernization and contributing to best practices.

Key Technical Environment

AWS: ECS Fargate Lambda IAM EC2 S3
IaC: Terraform (modular patterns refactoring standardization)
CI/CD: GitHub Actions (centralized) previously Azure DevOps
Scripting: Python Bash
Monitoring: Datadog (expanding integration and observability)
Configuration Management: Ansible Chef or Puppet (plus)

What Youll Do

Design and optimize GitHub Actions pipelines for CI/CD automation
Extend and modularize Terraform IaC for reuse and scalability
Deploy and manage workloads in AWS ECS Fargate
Partner with developers to enhance deployment speed and reliability
Integrate and expand Datadog observability across cloud systems
Mentor peers and help standardize engineering practices
Contribute to automation reliability and DevOps excellence

Ideal Background

5 years in Platform DevOps or Cloud Engineering
Strong proficiency in AWS Terraform and GitHub Actions
Scripting with Python or Bash
Experience with ECS serverless and cloud security best practices
Prior work in regulated or high-availability environments preferred
AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Terraform Associate is a plus
