Purpose of the job:
The Senior Cloud FinOps Administrator is responsible for driving cloud financial management excellence across the organization. This role focuses on optimizing cloud infrastructure costs managing budgets and implementing governance frameworks to ensure cost efficiency financial accountability and strategic cloud investment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expertise in optimizing infrastructure cost management resource utilization MOA management and reporting across all cloud environments.
- Monitor and manage cloud spending budgets and financial performance.
- Analyse cloud usage and cost data to identify trends anomalies and opportunities for optimization.
- Implement and manage cost-saving strategies tools and automation to enhance cloud efficiency.
- Collaborate with finance and technical teams to align cloud budgets forecasting and resource planning.
- Develop document and enforce cloud cost management policies and governance standards.
- Generate detailed cost reports dashboards and forecasts for stakeholders.
- Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks in cloud services.
- Ensure compliance with financial management and cloud governance frameworks.
- Educate and support business and technical stakeholders on cloud financial management best practices.
- Utilize FinOps tools and software to improve accuracy transparency and efficiency in cost tracking and reporting.
Requirements
Qualifications and Certifications:
- NQF Level 6 qualification or a Degree in Information Communication Technology (ICT) Information Systems or a related field.
- Microsoft Azure AWS or Oracle Cloud Certification (required).
- FinOps Practitioner or related certification (advantageous).
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a Cloud FinOps Administrator or equivalent cloud financial management role.
- Proven experience managing multi-cloud or hybrid cloud cost optimization and governance.
- Strong background in financial analysis budgeting and cost reporting for cloud environments.
