SUMMARY: We are seeking a motivated student worker to provide administrative support for our Headwind Scholars Program and Support Office. Mark Orphan (Program Director) and Laura Weber (program Coordinator) will provide supervision and support to this role. Our program currently serves 9 undergrad students enrolled at Vanguard. We are seeking a candidate that can start by November 3 2025 and work through May 7 2026. Student worker MUST be a graduate student. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Scheduling meetings for Headwind Scholars Program Director and Program Coordinator by request.
- Managing event details
- Group and individual email and text communications with scholarship students
- Tracking project timelines for Headwind Scholars Program Director and Program Coordinator.
- Occasional printing and mailing projects.
- Writing thank you notes to supporters and volunteers.
- Other tasks assigned by Headwind Scholars Program Director and Program Coordinator.
REQUIRED DATES: - November 4 Program Vision Lunch Event
- May 7 Commencement
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE: - Current graduate student enrolled at Vanguard University in good standing.
- Vibrant belief in Jesus Christ with ample evidence of personal discipleship.
- Maintain minimum grade point average of 2.0 each term.
- Demonstrated commitment as a team player to support and collaborate with faculty staff peers and external constituents as well as the initiative and ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that will result in effective collaboration.
COMPENSATION: This position is 6 - 10 hours per week at a rate of $19 per hour. Headwind Scholars is a grant serving students formerly in foster care. |
