The client is a boutique Perth-based builders and developers specialising in high-end custom homes multi-unit developments and turnkey design-and-build projects. We pride ourselves on precision transparency and attention to detail throughout every stage of construction. Were seeking an experienced Bookkeeper with solid knowledge of construction accounting and BEAMS (Estimating & Construction Management Software) to join our team. This role supports both our building and development entities and

ensures financial records are accurate compliant and up to date.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounts Payable (AP)

Process supplier invoices and subcontractor claims through BEAMS.

Match invoices to purchase orders and ensure correct job costing by category.

Reconcile supplier statements and follow up on any discrepancies.

Manage payment runs and maintain strong supplier relationships.

2. Accounts Receivable (AR)

Generate client invoices and progress claims in BEAMS.

Track receipts retentions and outstanding payments.

Liaise with the Contract Administrator and Project Manager to ensure correct billing

schedules.

3. Payroll and Compliance

Prepare and process payroll including PAYG Withholding (PAYGW) and

Superannuation obligations.

Maintain employee records and timesheets.

Reconcile and lodge PAYG and STP (Single Touch Payroll) submissions via the

ATO portal.

4. BAS and GST Management

Reconcile GST on income and expenses monthly.

Prepare and assist in lodging BAS statements in line with ATO requirements.

Ensure accuracy of tax coding in all transactions.

5. Job Costing and Financial Reporting

Maintain accurate cost allocations for each project using BEAMS Job Costing.

Support the Director and Contract Administrator with profitability and variance

reports.

Assist in monthly and quarterly financial reviews budgets and WIP reports.

6. General Accounting & Administration

Reconcile bank accounts and credit cards.

Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.

Liaise with external accountants regarding year-end adjustments.

Assist with ad-hoc reporting and internal process improvements.

Skills & Experience

Minimum 2-3 years bookkeeping experience ideally in construction or property development.

Strong working knowledge of BEAMS software (or equivalent construction

accounting systems).

Proficient with Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook).

Sound understanding of GST PAYG PAYGW and BAS requirements.

Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

Strong communication and problem-solving ability.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with ATO Online Services and Single Touch Payroll.

Familiarity with construction terminology and cost coding.

Required Skills:
