About the role:

We are seeking to recruit a Policy Assistant to support the Communities Team at Leicestershire County Council. The post holder will deliver our Mission Ready Armed Forces relocation support project and have an understanding of policy development relationship management and issues relating to Armed Forces Families.

You will support the Communities Team in the development and delivery of key activities relating to Armed Forces and other communities approach policy areas providing practical support and guidance to our team service departments and key partners.

You will have Good interpersonal skills and ability to develop effective networks / collaborative working with both external and internal individuals and organisations

You will be self-motivated highly organised with a proven ability to plan prioritise and work to deadlines.

About You

To apply for this post you must:

Have experience of:

  • Developing implementing monitoring and promoting corporate and strategic policy.
  • Preparing reports and briefings for project boards partnership boards and Lead Members
  • Experience of working in a strategic environment that includes experience of advising and supporting a wide range of partners
  • Experience and understanding of working within the area of service provision and co-ordination
  • Experience of using digital platforms and a producing materials for a range of audiences
  • Knowledge and/experience of working with Armed Forces Family Communities

You must also have an understanding of and commitment to equality diversity and inclusion.

In addition we expect you to shareour commitment to our valuesand will ask you to evidence when you have demonstrated them as part of the interview process.
