About the role:

We are looking for a detail-orientatedWaste and Recycling Officerwith strong organisational abilities and solid IT skills to manage recycling projects specifically aimed at reducing contaminated waste across Waltham Forest.

The successful candidate will be a good communicator who will be able carry out tasks in a professional and timely manner and be able to demonstrate proficient IT skills specifically in data management (Microsoft Access Microsoft Excel).

Management of the recycling contamination enforcement project requires data to be gathered database updating communicating any issues found with residents managing agents and neighbourhood colleagues and monitoring the success of the project through weekly/monthly statistical updates alongside a reduction in the rejected recycling loads to ensure the Council achieves its recycling targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gather analyse and report on information and data in respect of recycling and waste contamination.
  • Liaise with managing agents residents other council departments in respect of recycling contamination and waste minimisation.
  • Ability to write reports appropriate to the audience including weekly/monthly statistical updates.
  • Undertake and performance manage a waste management project which leads to improvement in the Councils recycling achievements and contributes to the social and environmental well-being of Waltham Forest.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Experience in the provision of support and the delivery of front line services.
  • Excellent demonstrable customer service skills.
  • Experience of working and communicating effectively with a wide range of internal and external bodies to achieve service objectives.
  • Excellent IT skills specifically Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel
