SUMMARY:

East Texas A&M University (ETAMU) invites applications for an open-rank Professor of Public Administration (with Criminal Justice support teaching) at East Texas A&M University (ETAMU) will teach core courses in the Master of Public Administration (MPA) program with additional contributions to upper-division undergraduate courses in Criminal Justice.

An active research agenda student advising and service at the department college university and professional levels are expected. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • 4/4 standard teaching load. Faculty are eligible to apply for competitive course releases to support significant research publication projects and grant activity.

  • Teach MPA foundational courses such as Public Management and Organization Theory Public Budgeting Human Resources Public Policy Analysis Research Methods Administrative Law and Capstone/Applied Project.

  • Teach undergraduate Criminal Justice courses aligned with expertise such as CJ policy and administration policing policy courts and corrections and CJ management.

  • Develop deliver and assess courses with attention to learning outcomes in both face-to-face and online modalities.

  • Maintain an active research agenda leading to peer-reviewed scholarship.

  • Mentor graduate students not only in research but also in applied and field opportunities that prepare them for professional success.

  • Provide academic advising mentorship and student support.

  • Engage in service to the department college university and professional community.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Education: Ph.D. in Public Administration Criminal Justice Public Policy Political Science or closely related field by start date.

  • Experience/Knowledge/Skills: Evidence of teaching effectiveness or strong potential for teaching MPA foundational courses; emerging record or strong potential for peer-reviewed scholarship; ability to teach online and face-to-face.

  • Licensing/Professional Certifications: None

  • Physical Requirements: None

PREFERRED EDUCATION / SKILLS/ EXPERIENCE:

  • Professional or research background in criminal justice administration or policy.

  • Experience with NASPAA-aligned outcomes assessment and capstone supervision.

  • Grant activity is encouraged and supported through institutional resources.
