The Compliance Specialist plays a key role in supporting the Compliance Office by contributing to the effective delivery of Gore Mutuals enterprise-wide Regulatory Compliance Program. This position ensures alignment with internal policies and external regulatory requirements helping to safeguard the organizations integrity and operational excellence.
What will you do
Regulatory Readiness and Cross-Functional Support
- Regulatory requirements identification
- Regulatory watch maintenance in Onspring
- Emerging regulation monitoring
- New and emerging regulation reporting
- Initial preparation of regulatory readiness assessment documentation
- Compliance research and analysis
- General Compliance office support
- Special projects support
Program Delivery Support and Response
- Intake management of Conflict of Interest reports
- Initial COI response support
- COI investigation with business support
- COI tracking and reporting
- Intake and management of Gifts and Entertainment reports
- Initial G&E response support
- G&E tracking and reporting
- Compliance incident intake and response support
- Incident mitigation monitoring and tracking
- Compliance office mailbox support
Regulatory Filings and Records Management
- Regulatory filings (RRS and other)
- KRI/KPI reporting support
- Onspring maintenance
What will you need
- 5 years of experience in compliance or related fields (e.g. legal audit risk)
- Insurance industry experience preferably in property and casualty
- Strong knowledge of federal and provincial regulatory requirements
- Familiarity with distribution licensing bodies and their requirements
- Experience with compliance management technology platforms
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and proactively
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Confidence in engaging with internal and external stakeholders
- Community college diploma CIP CRM or equivalent designation considered an asset
