ABOUT THE OFFICE:
The Mayors Office of Criminal Justice (MOCJ) advises the Mayor and Deputy Mayor for Public Safety on criminal justice policy and is the mayors representative to the courts district attorneys defenders and state criminal justice agencies among others. The office designs deploys and evaluates citywide strategies to drive down crime reduce unnecessary arrests and incarceration and improve the systems fairness. MOCJ works with law enforcement and city agencies non-profits foundations and others to implement data-driven strategies that address current crime conditions prevent offending and build strong neighborhoods that ensure enduring safety.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
Ability to work under pressure and meet restrictive deadlines in an atmosphere of intense activity and be able to elicit the same from subordinate staff. Strong knowledge of the Procurement and Sourcing Solutions Portal (PASSPort) system Vendex the Financial Management System (FMS) to retrieve and compile data into reports as required. Strong interpersonal skills which allow for effective direct communication with MOCJ officials agency staff and oversight agencies to which the office relates. Strong knowledge of the Procurement Policy Board (PPB) Rules and the NYC Charter as it relates to the oversight approval process. Excellent analytical ability & research skills. Possess problem solving prevention and resolution skills. Excellent writing and computer skills

Qualifications :
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or
2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to 1 or 2 above. However all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in 1 above.
