Job Summary

SUMMARY
In this role you will finish custom engineered metal products to the surface finish required by our customers. You will work with a team of talented fabricators where collaboration and communication are key to completing projects on time and to customer specifications.
First Shift
Pay rate: $22- $27/hr DOE
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
While working under close supervision
- Read and understand fabrication drawings.
- Determine required surface finish and locations on metal parts assemblies or weldments.
- Use grinders buff wheels and other tools to grind and polish to required surface finish.
- Processes required paperwork according to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Maintain a clean organized and safe working area.
- All other duties as assigned by shop supervision.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
- 0-3 years metal finishing experience and knowledge of sanitary surface finishes (grinding graining brushing random orbital) on stainless steel.
SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Ability to read and understand fabrication drawings to determine required surface finish and other specifications.
- Experience with grinders buff wheels and other hand tools used to modify surface finish of stainless steel steel and aluminum products.
- Ability to use standard measuring equipment to measure dimensions and surface finishes.
- Ability to organize work and communicate effectively and professionally with coworkers.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to answer questions effectively before departmental meetings.
- Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals and to convert decimals to fractions and fractions to decimals.
- Prior training in Lean Manufacturing and work experience in a Lean environment is highly desirable.
