About the Role:
We are seeking a strategic and technically adept Engineering Manager to lead our Data QA team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the quality reliability and performance of our data pipelines platforms and analytics systems. The ideal candidate will combine deep QA expertise with strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills to drive continuous improvement and innovation in data quality practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Strategy
Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers focused on data validation automation and process optimization
Define and execute the QA strategy for data products ensuring alignment with engineering and business goals
Foster a culture of ownership accountability and continuous learning
Technical Execution
Oversee the development and maintenance of automated testing frameworks for data pipelines and ETL processes
Ensure robust data quality checks anomaly detection and validation mechanisms across systems
Collaborate with Data Engineering Analytics and Product teams to define test plans and acceptance criteria
Process & Efficiency
Drive improvements in QA processes tools and metrics to enhance team productivity and product reliability
Implement best practices in test automation CI/CD integration and agile methodologies
Manage defect tracking root cause analysis and resolution workflows
Stakeholder Collaboration
Act as a key liaison between QA engineering and business stakeholders to prioritize testing efforts and ensure timely delivery
Communicate risks progress and quality metrics to leadership and cross functional teams. Qualifications
Proven experience managing QA teams preferably in data-centric environments
Strong understanding of data engineering concepts ETL workflows and big data technologies
Hands-on experience with test automation tools scripting languages (e.g. Python SQL) and QA frameworks
Excellent communication organizational and leadership skills.
