PLC Specialist Berlin Eastern Cape
An exciting opportunity exists for a skilled PLC Specialist to join a leading automotive manufacturing plant in Berlin (Eastern Cape). This role is ideal for a technically driven professional with extensive experience in automation robotics and electrical maintenance.
About the Role
The PLC Specialist will be responsible for performing electrical and preventative maintenance troubleshooting and repair work on industrial robots and automated production systems. The ideal candidate will ensure that all equipment meets operational quality and safety standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance department.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct fault finding repairs and maintenance on robotic systems and automation equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance as per schedules and job cards.
Provide accurate repair data and compile detailed feedback on maintenance activities.
Adhere strictly to company safety quality and operational procedures.
Participate in departmental problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure all work practices comply with SHEQ standards and company policies.
Skills and Competencies
Advanced knowledge of PLC programming (Siemens ABB KUKA KRC4 TIA Portal Integra Wave 4 Siemens S5 & S7).
Strong background in automation robotics pneumatics and hydraulics.
Solid understanding of manufacturing and quality systems.
Excellent fault-finding problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure.
Requirements
Minimum Requirements
T3/S4 Diploma in Instrumentation Electronics Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics.
5 years experience in Automation and Instrumentation.
23 years experience as an Electrical Technician in an automation or robotics environment.
Hands-on experience with Festo and ABB Stamp Master systems.
Willingness to work rotational shifts.
