The increasing global concern around water quality and environmental sustainability has brought attention to persistent pollutants such as PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances). These synthetic compounds are known for their resistance to degradation and are found in various industrial and consumer products. Due to their environmental persistence and potential health risks PFAS are now subject to stringent regulations across Europe and the United States.
In response to this challenge research efforts are focusing on developing innovative energy-efficient and sustainable treatment technologies that can effectively remove and neutralize PFAS from water systems. These solutions aim to minimize secondary waste reduce operational costs and support long-term environmental resilience.
Your goal
The goal of this internship is to optimize processes that aim to reduce chemical use minimize waste and improve the overall sustainability of PFAS removal.
What will you be doing We have listed it for you:
Testing novel materials for PFAS removal under different water quality conditions;
Investigating how different process conditions affect treatment performance;
Analyzing water quality data;
Proposing optimized treatment processes for sustainability and energy efficiency.
