Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate detail-oriented and skilled Pre-Op Registered Nurse to join our team on a PRN basis. In this role you will be responsible for preparing patients for surgical procedures by conducting pre-operative assessments administering medications and ensuring patient readiness while delivering high-quality patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform thorough pre-operative assessments including vital signs medical history and patient education.
Ensure all pre-surgical requirements are met and documented accurately.
Start IVs administer medications and provide emotional support to patients and families.
Collaborate with surgeons anesthesiologists and OR staff to ensure seamless care transition.
Monitor patient condition and respond promptly to any changes.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in compliance with HIPAA and facility standards.
Follow all infection control and safety protocols.
Provide clear post-operative instructions when needed.

Required Qualifications:

Active and Current (Hawaii) RN license
BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
Minimum 1 year of recent Pre-Op PACU or Surgical Services nursing experience
Strong IV and patient assessment skills
Excellent communication and critical thinking abilities
Ability to work 12-hour shifts including nights weekends or holidays as needed
